Stain-Proof 40 SK Consolidator & Water Repellent is designed for natural stones from sedimentary rock in a saltwater environment. A saltwater environment is around a salt water pool, and anywhere within a 5 km radius of the ocean.

The stones that Dry Treat consider to be soft are Sandstone, Limestone, Travertine and Concrete pavers. Some of these pavers may need to be dipped sealed in Stain-Proof 40 SK 7 days prior to installation. This includes the coping tiles and anywhere within the splash zone. The splash zone will vary from pool to pool and is considered all tiles within the fence line.

Dip Sealing – This is when the paver is fully submerged in Stain-Proof 40 SK Consolidator for between 10-30 seconds depending on the porosity of the stone.

This process is only recommended for Saltwater pools. For magnesium and UV filtered pools, we haven’t received enough data that 40 SK Consolidator is required for this type of pools, however it can been offered to the client. Chlorinated pools do not require the use of Stain-Proof 40 SK.

DryTreat do not recommend you use Stain-Proof 40 SK for Bluestone, Basalt or Granite. We always recommend that you visit our website at the below link to see what sealers are recommended by the surface type: https://www.drytreat.com/surfaces/

As Stain-Proof 40 SK Consolidator is only a water repellent and a consolidator, we also recommend that all stone will require oil repellency for oil base staining. You can use either Stain-Proof Premium Impregnating Sealer or Stain-Proof Colour Enhancing Sealer two weeks after Stain-Proof 40 SK.
